P'Nut Street Noodles Stand Up for Equality

P'Nut Street Noodles Stand Up for Equality

Spurred by recent global events and committed to making a difference, over the first weekend of June, P’Nut Street Noodles held a fundraiser for our Foundation. Donating $4 from the sale of every Pad Thai dish over the weekend, P’Nut used their fantastic food to raise $2,500 for Indigenous literacy!

A family-run business with a culturally diverse team, P’Nut Street Noodles is all about sticking together as a family, and striving to make a difference. In fact, they consider all their staff and guests to be their extended family!

With stories of unrest and inequality coming to light, even while bearing losses from COVID-19, they felt like it was the right time to act and stand up for what they believe in – equality.

While there are many challenges currently facing our Indigenous communities, P’Nut believed that the inequalities in literacy levels, as well as difficult access to books and education for Indigenous children in remote communities was a vital cause to choose to champion.

Ankur Sehgal, Owner and Founder of P'Nut Street Noodles, decided the best way to show their commitment to education and equality was by giving back to the community.

"It's a great honour to partner with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and support its incredible work across remote communities of Australia. Children are the future, and we look forward to partnering with ILF again to strive for equity of opportunity for all kids and Indigenous communities."

Our Executive Director, Karen Williams OAM, expressed her thanks for the contribution and believes that our Foundation holds the same values.

“We deeply appreciate the support of P’Nut Street Noodles and its guests, and we too share their values and respect for cultural diversity. In this climate, respect for different cultures, customs and languages is more important than ever. The funds P’Nut donated will support our Foundation’s work in remote communities across Australia to deliver our vision: equity of opportunity.”

Locals got involved in the fundraiser by enjoying P’Nut Pad Thai and this helped contribute to this incredible amount raised by the restaurant chain. We’d like to thank all the guests who contributed – what a fantastic community effort!

We’re definitely looking forward to partnering with P’Nut again in the future. They share our values and vision of equity of opportunity - and make some absolutely delicious Pad Thai to boot! You can order from P'Nut online, and enjoy from a range of great tasting Asian food today!
