As the ILF continues to grow and our supporter base expands, we aim to work with organisations that not only care for people but the planet as well. One of our most recent supporters is Enviroplus, a sustainable and natural commercial cleaning product provider investing in plant and enzyme technologies to create solutions that are not harmful to the environment.
Part of Enviroplus’ core purpose and culture is “to empower their people, to empower cleaners, to empower the community.” This is achieved through a solid process of teaching, training, and passing on knowledge.
At ILF, our purpose is to invest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander remote Communities to provide the tools and resources they request to shape the direction of their children’s literacy futures. We value that our supporters also invest in keeping Communities and our natural environment clean and healthy and support others with learning.
According to Enviroplus, their support of the ILF has also been welcomed by its Indigenous-owned business customers, including Joseph ‘Joey’ Wallace, Managing Director of Multhana Property Services. Joey is a Jirrabal man from the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland, with Juru descendants in Bowen, North Queensland.
‘Multhana’ translates to ‘coming together to help each other’ in the Kalkadoon language. The main purpose is providing opportunities for young Indigenous people to join the workforce and build a solid foundation for their future. “It’s all about getting your foot in the door”, says Joey.
By partnering with Enviroplus and using their range of environmentally friendly cleaning products, Multhana and many other cleaning contractors across Australia are helping to create positive environmental change and social change in remote Indigenous Communities. A percentage of each sale of Eviroplus products is donated to the ILF, helping ensure kids living in remote locations have access to quality, culturally relevant books, and books in First Languages.
Thank you Enviroplus and your valued contractors, for your ongoing support of ILF.
