Kids at Menindee's Children's Centre are lifting the lid on early literacy – thanks to the help of the new Book Buzz sets sponsored by our foundation. Last month children at the centre, like Erin, made an early literacy milestone with the help of popular titles such as Dear Zoo and That's Not My Truck. Erin is now interacting with the book, opening and closing it and looking at the pictures.
Mums, dads and other family members are encouraged to come along and help their children develop a love of reading through shared reading times.
Book Buzz early literacy kits support the Little Kids and Books program that arose from the community's concern about the lack of activities for families with children aged 0-3 years old.
Narelle Pascoe, Maari Mai said: "Little Kids and Books builds an appreciation of the importance of reading in the early years and provides support for parents and community engagement".
