There are many ways that you can help make this campaign a success.
Here are some ideas to get you started
- If you are a bookshop, support the campaign by giving 5% or more of your instore
sales on Indigenous Literacy Day (Wednesday 5 September 2012). More
marketing ideas for participating bookshops. Here's what other
bookshops have said about their ILD involvement.
- If you are a publisher or supplier, give a dollar or percentage of invoiced sales
on that day or hold a fundraising event throughout the year.
- Ask for gold coin donations at bookshop events, publisher events, staff meetings
or conferences.
- Encourage your customers and bookclubs to participate in the The
Great Book Swap Challenge.
- Spread the word by incorporating information about the campaign (along with an opportunity
to make a donation) at industry conferences and trade shows, in presentations to
clients, at schools and libraries.
- Demonstrate your support to others by including campaign messages on your sales
receipts, invoices and in mail outs or by putting a link to this site on your website.
- Use the campaign as a team building and fundraising opportunity within your workplace.
- Find out more about Indigenous literacy and promote discussion with your friends,
family and colleagues.
